In April 2011, the Laborers Community & Training Foundation joined with Brothers & Sisters at SEIU-UHW to form a unique partnership to help get preapprentices job opportunities at the SF Chinatown Night Market. The Board Chairman Ramon Hernadez stated "This opportunity to work with our good friends in Chinatown/North Beach is a great first step at reaching out to the Community to bring them into our Trade Union Movement. I am enthusiastic about the Market and how much it means to the surrounding community...we are excited that SEIU-UHW gave us an opportunity to be a part of something that is so great for San Francisco."
